Dear graduates,
Israel has been the target of appalling terrorist attacks. More than 1,200 people have been indiscriminately massacred. There are more than 150 hostages, mainly women and children.
David Benoliel (E03), President of the ESSEC Alumni Israel Chapter, told us by telephone about the horror of "the atrocities committed by the terrorists", which were "widely reported on social networks (...). The country is going through a terrible situation, undoubtedly the worst in its history".
We quickly reached out to the School, as well as the Israel Chapter, to check on students and graduates in the region. We can now share with you that all members of the ESSEC community in Israel are currently safe: three student interns and around fifty graduates are in the country. We currently have no exchange students at Tel Aviv University's Coller School of Management (Master in Management) or at IDC Herzliya (Global BBA), our local partners.
We will get back to you as soon as we have more information about the alumni directly or indirectly affected by these tragedies (families, friends, relatives, etc.). We will pass on to you the various mutual aid, support and comfort initiatives undertaken by the community.
We understand that the situation is extremely distressing for many people. If you feel the need, you can contact Boris Haguenauer, psychologist, via Elisabeth Dos Anjos (elisabeth.dosanjos@essec.edu).
During this very sensitive and difficult time for everyone, I feel it is important to express our support for the victims and our solidarity with the Israeli people and all the civilian populations in the region.
Fraternally,
Olivier Cantet (E87)
President - ESSEC Alumni
