Discover ESSEC Alumni in the Choiseul 2022 Future Business Leaders Ranking

The Institut Choiseul has published its 2022 ranking of the 100 economic leaders of the future. 7 alumni feature in the ranking and 11 more have also been recognised by the prestigious research centre for their promising career.

The Choiseul 100 list showcases and opens up networks for leaders under the age of 40, whose activity and expertise play, or are set to play, a key role in the French economy. Numerous ESSEC alumni feature in the list every year, and 2022 is no exception!

7 alumni in the Top 100

Laurence Pera (E06), Transformation and Development Director at the TF1 group, began her career at EY, followed by Rise Conseil, before joining the prestigious television channel. Her first role was to steer strategic projects for the executive committee. She was then appointed Director of the President’s Office and pursued her career in various branches of the group (TF1 Publicité, TF1 Distribution and TF1 Entertainment) before taking over the general management of TMC. 

Sébastien Guillo (E08), Head of International Banking at HSBC France, rapidly rose up through the ranks of the British banking group, which he joined following his position in strategic consulting at Oliver Wyman. Recruited as a Senior Business Planning Manager in Retail & Wealth Management, he was promoted in just 2 years to the position of Head of Business Finance Commercial Bank, then Head of Strategy in 2014. In the same year he was appointed to the executive committee, where he continues to sit.

Alexandru Nicolae Marin (E12), Managing Director France and Vice-President of the Auto1 group, plays a key role in the growth of this European unicorn valued at more than €10 billion. An impressive rise for this former employee of The Boston Consulting Group, for which he carried out assignments in Latin America and North Africa.

Matthias Baccino (E10), Managing Director France for the German fintech Trade Republic, gained his initial experience with BNP Paribas and PWC, before becoming Managing Director of Binck. He also sits on the executive committee of the Concorde Foundation, a civil society think tank which aims to “make France the most prosperous country in Europe”.

Anne-Laure Feldkircher (E10), Executive Director of Transformation for the Fnac Darty Group, began her career at BNP Paribas and The Boston Consulting Group. She then held the position of in-house Consultant in International Strategy at Hermès, before becoming a Strategy and Planning Project Manager for the Casino group and Director of Strategy at Leader Price.

Clara Chappaz (E12), Managing Director of La French Tech, held various positions in Bangkok and Singapore for the Zalora Group, worked for BCG in New York, co-founded the Lullaby start-up in Boston and was Vice-President International of Lyst in London, before taking up the position of Chief Business Officer at Vestiaire Collective, a unicorn specialised in the sale of second-hand clothing. Sarah Finkelstein (E09), Secretary General of the Agence des Participations de l'État [The French State Participation Agency], began her career with the Directorate-General of the Treasury, following studies at ENA [French School of Administration], where she worked for the Savings and Financial Markets Office, followed by the Interministerial Committee for Industrial Restructuring, before becoming Head of the Business Funding and Development Office and Head of the Office for Foreign & European Affairs and Tech Affairs in the financial sector. She also held a consulting position for the Ministry for Finance and the Economy. She is additionally a member of the board at the French National Film and Animated Film Centre (CNC).

In addition to its Top 100 list, Choiseul also recognises promising profiles to look out for.
