Supporting ESSEC graduates who want to help make their company have a positive impact

In July 2022, ESSEC Alumni, in partnership with the Observatoire Société et Consommation (Society and Consumption Observatory or ObSoCo), carried out a survey on ESSEC graduates and the social and environmental transition.

It revealed that 82% of alumni were in favour of a radical transformation for companies, although only 15% considered that the company they work for was on this path. It also highlighted a desire to upskill in our graduates, with 71% interested in courses offered by ESSEC and 68% in courses selected by ESSEC Alumni.

If you feel the same way, read on to find out more about the results of the association’s work to help you boost your company’s transformation. With our ambitious action plan, ESSEC Alumni is committed to supporting you on this journey, along with the entire ESSEC ecosystem.

The ESSEC Alumni action plan for the environmental and social transition

1. The key parts of the action plan

Our watchword is action, which breaks down into a 3-stage transformation process for our alumni:

Develop awareness

Developing awareness means creating a core of knowledge. The Climate Fresk, the 2Tonnes Workshop and now the Diversity Fresk, created by ESSEC, are run every six weeks, both in person and remotely. And we help alumni who wish to set up the Climate Fresk in their own company. Over time, we will be adding other kinds of sessions, with Fresks on Digital Technology, Biodiversity, Construction, Finance and more...

Please note that these workshops are only available in French for the moment.

Keen to sign up for a fresk or workshop, but not available for the dates listed?

Don’t panic! New sessions are organised regularly.

  Join a positive-impact collective

Join a positive-impact collective to grow the scope of your individual action. We hope that a large number of alumni will join our community-minded clubs and use these new services... and that they will be satisfied with them. We also plan to dedicate part of our editorial policy to sharing the inspiring stories of graduates who have already gotten involved in the transformation.

The ESSEC Alumni clubs you can join:

ESSEC Impact Initiative is an umbrella for all the ESSEC initiatives aimed at having an impact launched since 2003. Several respond perfectly to the needs of alumni wishing to get involved in the environmental and social transition, like the E&MISE laboratory for measuring impact, or the Antropia ESSEC incubator with programs Start Up and Scale Up.

2.  ESSEC Alumni Day: let’s look back at an unprecedented event dedicated to diversity and inclusion

13 October 2022 was the day that ESSEC Alumni chose to bring together the entire ESSEC community - students, graduates and professors - for over 12 hours, from Singapore to New York via Cergy, to take action together for corporate diversity and inclusion.

ESSEC and ESSEC Alumni are committed to helping make the world more inclusive, so that everyone can find their own place where their uniqueness is respected.

At the School, these questions are already included in training programmes, allowing ESSEC to have a positive impact on the future companies that students join or create. And now, the Association is also getting involved in this process, so that collectively, we can increase this impact by helping to build another business model, one that’s more solidarity-oriented, equitable and responsible.
