Many ESSEC alumni have recently been appointed to senior management roles in major companies. An eclectic selection.

Fabrice Carré (E02) has been appointed chief strategy officer at Accor, joining the group’s executive committee. A graduate of ESTP (Specialist School for Public Works), Fabrice began his career at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting (now Bearingpoint), where he oversaw restructuring, performance management, and growth projects for several CAC 40 companies in the energy, telecoms, and technology sectors, as well as within government departments and public institutions. He joined Accor’s strategic management team in 2006, where his roles included carrying out financial analysis of the group’s full range of development and investment projects, as well as financial steering and performance monitoring of its sales, marketing, distribution, loyalty, and IT departments.

Julien Lestrade (E99) has been appointed managing director of LazardNext, a new franchise targeting the small cap market. The new recruit cut his teeth at Société Générale before entering private banking at Neuflize OBC, Lombard Odier and Crédit Suisse. For 9 years, he served as M&A Director at Rothschild Small/Midcap (Transaction R) and Head of Business Development at Rothschild & Co.

Carine Damois (E99) was appointed deputy director of finance at Michelin. She has been advancing her career within the group since 2013, following a stint as CFO of the Fuel business unit at Framatome, and oversaw various roles in cash-flow, management control, and finance at Areva.

Matthieu Petri (E07) was appointed chief commercial officer at the fashion house Pierre Balmain, leaving LVMH where he served as senior vice president strategy in the group’s fashion division, and retail director for Chaumet Europe. He has spent several years working in the finance departments of major companies, including director of finance and operations at Elanco France and finance director at Vente Privée, following a period in M&A at Crédit Agricole CIB.
