Quentin Lidié (SMIB 2022) co-founds Milva, an independent watchmaking house inspired by the Mediterranean.

“After several years working in consulting, I wanted to create something tangible — at the crossroads of design, technology, and culture.”

That’s how Milva was born, co-founded in March 2025 by Quentin Lidié (SMIB 2022) and Matthieu Marciniak, two engineers and watch enthusiasts. Their ambition: to offer a new vision of the mechanical watch — more contemporary, radiant, and full of character.

“Milva is an independent watchmaking house born between Paris and the South of France. We wanted to create timepieces that combine Swiss precision with a Mediterranean way of life: elegant, luminous, and timeless.”

Their first creation, the Cyprès, pays tribute to the iconic watches of the 1950s and 1960s while featuring a Swiss automatic Sellita SW200-1 movement and assembly in France.

Pre-orders will open on 4 November 2025, in an exclusive and numbered series.

An adventure that perfectly illustrates the diversity of paths followed by ESSEC graduates — from strategy consulting to the creation of artisanal expertise.

“The school gave me the curiosity and entrepreneurial rigour needed to bring this project to life, as well as a valuable network to help structure it.”
