The hamburger giant’s big comeback

A spritely 60-something, Jérôme Tafani (E80) has now been at the head of Burger King France and Quick for just over three years. He was called in by Olivier Bertrand, owner of the eponymous group, and owner of the Burger King master franchise for France. Mad about mountains, whether hiking or skiing, this father of three also likes to highlight his Corsican roots, which he says helped make him the man he is today. After graduating from ESSEC in the early 1980s, and completing his national service as... a ski instructor... Jérôme Tafani joined the Deloitte/Touche Ross auditing and consultancy firm, beginning a career in finance that would take him to a number of other companies, before joining McDonald’s in 1996. Today, his role is to re-establish the other hamburger giant in France, with undoubted success.
