The ESSEC Alumni General Assembly took place on Wednesday 15 June 2022. It gathered nearly 200 people at the Institut Catholique de Paris and online, via our live broadcast.

This event was the opportunity to present the activity report 2021, the annual accounts report as well as the auditor's report for the year 2021.

2021 in a few words and some numbers

Our goal is simple: to help alumni deploy their potential and multiply their impact through the power of the collective.

The priority set for 2021 was to increase awareness and use of our services in France and internationally.

With more than 19,000 beneficiaries of our services (+35% vs 2020), 2021 is a record year for ESSEC Alumni!

We have more than doubled the number of services offered by the Career Service, reaching over 5,600 beneficiaries.

2021 also marks the reinforcement of our international career offer with the arrival of 6 coaches based abroad.

The Lifelong Learning offer has also been structured and developed throughout the year and has started to be adopted by the alumni.

Our community

The activity of our communities has intensified despite the multiple waves of COVID.

In France, we have noted a large increase in the number of events (302, i.e. an increase of 48% compared to 2020). The number of participants is also mechanically increasing (6 800) even though the absence rates can reach 50%. The organisation of our events must take into account the new post-COVID uses and behaviours to be as close as possible to the new alumni's habits.

Internationally, such acceleration is also noticeable. The events gather twice as many participants as in 2020 (4000), a sign of positive dynamics and increased activities.

The commitment of our alumni is also expressed by the vitality of exchanges on Slack. The ESSEC Entrepreneurs space has nearly 800 members.

We have launched 7 services dedicated to entrepreneurs, including the mentoring system which allows the development of mutual support between ESSEC entrepreneurs.

Among students, we note that ESSEC Alumni services are increasingly known and used. The overall appreciation and positive opinion continue to grow. The objective is to build a strong relationship with the students and facilitate the appropriation of our services (mentoring, advice...).

Strategic priorities for 2022-2025

The 4 main pillars of the association: Inspire, Connect, Support and Together to act have been the foundation of ESSEC Alumni's development for 2 years now. Each pillar responds to purposes that enable the development of alumni services.

The sale of the "Maison des ESSEC" (MDE) on rue Cortambert (Paris XVIe)

The MDE was sold in December 2021. Since January 2022, the teams have been based in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. This space offers offices for the staff and a room that can accommodate workshops for 20 people.

By 2025, a permanent solution will emerge to welcome all alumni generations. This new space could be integrated into the new Paris campus of ESSEC Executive Education.

The reform of the statutes and internal rules in 2023

The reform of the statutes has several objectives:

  •  Modernise the statutes :
    •  to take into account students (single contributors for life)
    •  to allow remote electronic voting
  •  Maintain on the Administration board the balance between ESSEC programmes, communities, gender parity, age pyramid, international and regional character, as well as the diversity of alumni.
  • Have the necessary expertise to meet the needs of the Association to carry out strategic projects.

Next steps :

 • Extraordinary General Assembly: November-December 2022

 • Response from the "Conseil d'Etat": March-April 2023

 • Application of the new statutes at the 2023 GA, estimated for June 2023
