Commitment

In Le Monde, Bertrand de Lacombe (E95) revives the memory of the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp, one of the least known to the general public. “This was the secret factory where the V2 rockets were made. A living hell for 60,000 deportees, including my grandfather, number 40829. And the most advanced centre of its time for aerospace technology, whose knowledge was not lost on everyone. From 1945 onwards, the Russians, British, French and Americans set about tracking down the German scientists who ran the factory.” And whose crimes would be overlooked so that they could contribute to the successes of NASA, the Ariane rocket, and more.

Expertise

In La Croix, the philosopher Cécile Renouard (E90) warns about the risks of adopting artificial intelligence without adding safeguards: ethical issues (“there’s a risk of considering the probabilistic source that is ChatGPT as a reliable source”), social issues (“we stress the fact that it will eliminate the need to perform arduous tasks... without taking account of the multitude of invisible click workers required for its operations”), and ecological issues (“the massive use of AI will give rise to conflicts of use concerning energy needs”)... She concludes that: “Objectivity and critical thinking are the only ways to set limits, to avoid ruining our minds, our democracies and our ecosystems.”

On the Fonction RH website, Octave Bory (E13), CEO of Eukonomy, extolls the merits of project-based profit-sharing, encouraged by the PACTE [Action Plan for Business Growth and Transformation] Law. “Unlike traditional profit-sharing, which applies to all employees and is based on the company's overall results, project-based profit-sharing is targeted and defined by specific objectives. In this way, it enables employees to be directly involved in the results of the activities in which they are engaged. This strategic tool remains largely underexploited.”
